Entry Level ECAD Technician

Position Summary:

To provide ECAD specific technical support for Linux workstations running a variety of Chip Design tools, writing scripts, testing PDK’s, and reporting to the company ECAD Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supporting and Troubleshooting ECAD tools from vendors including Cadence, Mentor Graphics, and others. Tools include Schematic Capture, Layout, Simulation, Extraction, DRC/LVS, Synthesis, Place and Route, and Resistance Mapping
  • Testing and Debugging PDK’s from multiple foundries including device netlisting, parasitic back annotation, simulation device models, simulation test benches, DRC, LVS, ERC, ESD, and Latch-up rule decks, QRC and Calibre-XRC parasitic extraction decks
  • Supporting and Troubleshooting revision control systems including SVN and ICManage
  • Creating and Documenting workflows to help execute projects effectively and successfully with high quality
  • Responding to support requests from both Management and Engineering staff
  • Other tasks as assigned by the ECAD Manager

Minimum Education Level:

  • Undergrad majoring in or BS degree holder in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and/or a closely related field

Required Skills & Experience:

  • The ability to problem-solve, multitask, communicate well both in writing and verbally, and work in a team-oriented environment
  • The ability to triage issues in real time and regularly follow up on long term items
  • Must be US Citizen or permanent resident with green card
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Unix/Linux commands and workflows
  • Demonstrate knowledge of software lifecycle flows and programming techniques
  • Experience with ECAD software a plus
  • Experience in maintaining documentation a plus
