Senior Mixed-Signal Design Engineer

Position Summary:

This position will report to the CTO and assume engineering responsibility to plan, manage, and oversee detailed circuit analysis involving fine line CMOS and BiCMOS processes. It will involve planning and coordinating the design, simulation, layout, verification, and test of mixed-mode circuits.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the different design phases from specification, through design and bring up of mixed-signal circuits
  • Perform detailed circuit analysis, design, simulation, layout, verification and test of mixed-mode circuits
  • Participate in system architecture and design flow
  • Complete module design and system verification
  • Determine trade offs between functionality, speed, and power consumption
  • Assure appropriate testing is developed

Requirements & Minimum Education Level:

  • M. S. in Electrical Engineering


  • Minimum of 5 years experience in analog /mixed signal design
  • Expert at transistor level circuit design, simulation, verification using modern EDA tools such as Cadence
  • Experience in noise analysis, transistor/capacitor matching and sources of errors in analog integrated circuits
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas is critical:
    • CMOS image sensor readout path
    • Switched capacitor circuits: high-speed low power ADC circuits
    • Low noise programmable gain amplifiers
  • Experience with CMOS image sensors will be a strong plus
  • Experience with MATLAB and/or other high level modeling languages

Required Skills:

  • Knowledgeable in all stages of mixed-signal chip design flow including DFT, timing analysis, ECO flow, and silicon bring up
  • Proficient in Cadence chip design tools
  • Proficient in Verilog RTL coding, synthesis, debug and verification
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong command of written English
  • Self-motivated, work well in a team, experienced with team data and specification management procedures
